About me

I'm a UX Researcher and Designer with a Master's from Northeastern University, where I studied human communication, cognition, and behavior.

During my time at Northeastern's NIH funded Speech & Neurodevelopment Lab, I co-authored two peer-reviewed publications conducting mixed methods research across 200+ participants. I now lead UX Research at Oppia Foundation, a free open source education platform and Google Summer of Code organization, where I contributed towards building our entire research operation from scratch. I bring empathy, evidence, and a deep commitment to inclusive design to deliver impactful products.

From Clinician to UX

I've always been drawn to understanding people as much as I can - how they communicate, how they think, and how they interact with the world around them.

My 5 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist working in hospital ICUs & COVID floors, pediatric rehab centers, and schools showed me something powerful - technology can be life changing, but only when it's designed with real humans in mind. I watched patients struggle with tools that weren't built for them. I saw children with disabilities light up when technology finally worked for their needs.

That's what brought me to UX design & research. Not a career pivot - a natural evolution. The users were always my north star.

Outside of research…

I am a die hard Charli XCX fan 🎵

Don't bring up her Brat album unless you have time to talk all day about it.

I live in long island city, queens 📍

I have strong opinions about the best food spots. Ask me for recommendations!

I am named after my Dad

And yes, Billi is my full name!
